Mirror Images

It’s not always that you meet someone who shares a common purpose of life or at least - a similar one. You don't meet people with whom you feel safe and jubilant everyday. You can't build a lifetime relationship on compatibility alone. You need a lot more!!

Being a self-absorbed person, I exactly know how it feels when 'friendly' people barge into your life - desperately trying, inquiring and fidgeting. I do not even know if they believe in building a foundation. And then, there is the second kind of people. They seem to have planned everything before walking down the aisle. They come in, not to change or know us, but to become a part of us; or may be to show that a part exists in you that you didn’t know – till then. They work more with their head and less with their heart; after all, it pays to be as objective as possible. There is never a run out of topics with them. There is never a sour moment. And then one fine day, you recognize that they are your own reflections. The person becomes a mensch when you are seeking comfort; a materialistic when you look for growth; a teacher when you are insecure.

That is when you know you have built a lifetime relationship and that is when you have met your mirror image. I do not know if such relationships are fictional, eroding with time. But I do know there is a sense of belonging which tells me you CAN grow together instead of growing apart.

Wipro's latest sunflower is certainly colorful :P

Well, the argument seems compelling. Can totally relate to the two types of people. One feels that a mirror image would be the perfect person to be with. True, you wont run out of topics, but then you will never have a fight. No sour moments. But is'nt that what makes a relationship stronger ? I would'nt know. The question remains, do opposites attract or can two left shoes be fine together ?

Looks like the Bangalore atmosphere has inspired more cryptic posts :)
Keep writing.. but no trade secrets :P

I think its not that the person who is coming is the mirror image its like over the time you seems to be like them and thats when you see that being "objective" helps you rather then being "self absorbed". You see the direction and your target because you feel if they can see it that clearly why cant you and then you have a vision which is same (or at least which is close to them).
It becomes clear that when you have seen the "dark side of reality" you were missing "the part which exits in you which you didnt know till then" and their cliarty of life lets you see that.

hey, nice post..
and I think even though opposites attract, someone who is almost like your mirror image will make you feel most secure and can relate to everything that you experience - happiness, sadness, love, hatred et all.. everything you sense and feel can be shared.. and trust me, its a wonderful feeling to meet someone who is so esay to be with and whom you dont need to impress! :)
